About Me
When I first started cooking, it was the summer of 2016 and at that time the only things I could really make were plain baked chicken and jar bolognese spaghetti. I had minimal food interests and wasn’t bothered by repetition. Only when I met someone is when I started broadening my horizons.
When I was young I struggled with food. I wasn’t the best at trying new things and a lot of pressure was put on to me. Food was very important in both of my cultures and I felt disconnected because of how picky I was.
Alternatively, my mother is kind of a legend in the kitchen and I was always envious of her elegance as she hosted and cooked for a party or event. She always made everyone feel so welcome and taken care of. It is something that deeply inspires me.
The warmth that gathering around food brings is unlike anything else and I think its important to pass recipes through loved ones. This is my recipe book. A collection of adapted, entirely original, and family recipes I've gathered over the last few years. I originally created My Tasty Buds for my own recipe collecting, but I’m glad that its grown into something that I can share and I hope it inspires you to cook and bake!
Thanks for reading.
